Purchase Terms

Order scope, appointments, downloads, recovery, cancellations and refunds for website purchases.

These terms cover website checklist purchases, consultation bookings, advocate reviews and fixed-fee service requests. Please check the item, amount, email and preferred appointment before submitting. You can edit or cancel the form before submission.

Version: 21 October 2026. Supplier: Njau & Associates Advocates, Cedar Courts, Muthaiga North Road, Garden Estate Area, Nairobi; P.O. Box 29202-00100. Email info@njauadvocates.com; phone / WhatsApp +254 710 914 579. You may print or save this page. Your order email includes your order details and the purchase terms accepted at submission.

1. What you are buying

Checklists: the eleven resources are editable Word checklists to help you collect information, identify questions and prepare for legal advice. They are not completed contracts, wills, pleadings or personalised legal opinions. Read the product description and exclusions before buying. A separate advocate review is optional and separately priced.

Consultations and checklist reviews: the displayed KES 3,000 covers one 30-minute initial session on the selected matter. The session identifies relevant issues, available options and likely next steps. It does not include drafting, registry searches, a formal written opinion, court representation or a full document audit unless agreed separately. A checklist review concerns the completed checklist; it is not a full review of every underlying contract or title document.

Fixed-fee services: the advertised package covers only the work described. The firm confirms the precise scope, documents required, exclusions and expected timing in writing before starting. Government, registry and third-party charges are additional where stated and require your approval before they are incurred. Litigation, objections, disputes and extra work require a separate written scope and fee agreement. No legal outcome, registration or regulatory approval is guaranteed.

2. Prices and payment references

The total shown for the selected item is the amount requested at checkout. Where VAT is added, the professional fee, VAT and total are shown. Ask the firm for any tax breakdown or applicable tax invoice. An order acknowledgement is not a tax invoice or proof that payment has been verified.

The current payment route is M-Pesa Send Money to 0710 914 579. Keep your confirmation SMS. The site records the reference you submit; the firm checks the recipient, amount and transaction against its records manually. Submitting a code does not establish that funds have been received. If an order appears to fail, retry with the same details or recover the order; do not make another payment solely to retry.

3. Confirmation, conflicts and appointments

A reference number confirms that the order request was saved. It does not confirm an appointment or create an advocate-client relationship. The firm contacts you by the next working day to check payment, conflicts, suitability, scope and availability. A working day means Monday to Friday, excluding Kenyan public holidays. Dates and time windows are in East Africa Time (Nairobi).

Your preferred date and time window are requests. The firm confirms the exact slot and meeting arrangements or offers an alternative. Do not send confidential documents until the firm agrees to act and gives you an appropriate sharing method. A paid checklist download is a resource purchase and does not, by itself, engage the firm to act.

4. Consultation fee credit

If you subsequently instruct the firm on the same matter, the amount actually paid for the initial consultation or checklist review is credited once against the agreed professional fee. It is not a cash discount on government charges and cannot reduce a fee below an applicable lawful minimum. The written engagement confirms how the credit is applied. The consultation and review fee is not automatically an additional credit on an unrelated matter.

5. Cancellation, rescheduling and refunds

Contact the firm using your reference to cancel or request a different appointment. There is no extra charge to request rescheduling before the appointment. If you miss a session, contact the firm to agree an appropriate next step; this website does not impose an automatic no-show penalty.

If you cancel a consultation or review before the session begins, the unused session fee is refundable. If the firm cannot act because of a conflict, cannot agree a suitable appointment with you, or declines the service before work starts, the payment for work not provided is refundable. A fixed-fee service cancelled before any agreed work or approved third-party expense is undertaken is refundable in full.

After professional work starts, the firm provides an account of work actually done and approved expenses incurred, applies the engagement terms and any applicable fee rules, and refunds the unused balance. You can ask for an explanation or challenge a fee through the available professional or legal processes.

For a checklist that is missing, cannot be opened, is materially different from its description, or was paid for twice, contact the firm for a working copy, correction or an appropriate refund. If you change your mind before accessing the file, ask for cancellation and a refund. Accessing a file does not remove any mandatory consumer right or remedy.

Refunds are processed after the payment and entitlement have been checked, normally to the original payer through the original payment route. The firm will confirm the amount, any justified deductions and the expected processing date. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or cancellation remedies that Kenyan law makes mandatory.

6. Downloads and permitted use

A checklist link is displayed after a valid order submission under the current manual payment process. Payment remains subject to checking. Links last seven days from the original order and allow up to five downloads; recovering an order does not restart either limit. If a file is temporarily unavailable, the firm contacts you within one working day. Contact the firm with your reference for an expired link, accessibility issue or replacement copy.

You may edit and use the purchased checklist for your own personal affairs or your organisation's internal needs and share it privately with your advisers for that purpose. You may not resell it, publish it, distribute it as a competing product or remove the firm's ownership notice without permission. Legal requirements and your circumstances can change; obtain appropriate advice before relying on a completed resource.

7. Recovery and personal information

Retrying the same submission from the same browser tab recovers its original order rather than making another purchase. If you lost the page, use Recover an order with the order email and M-Pesa reference. Matching details are sent only to that email. For older orders, incorrect emails or expired links, contact the firm. Recovery does not confirm payment or bypass download limits.

We use order information to fulfil purchases, arrange appointments, reconcile payment references and handle support or refunds, as explained in the privacy policy. Your order and acceptance record retain the applicable version of these terms. Check your email and keep your reference; an email problem does not cancel a saved order.

8. Questions, disputes and changes

Raise purchase or service concerns with the Managing Partner through info@njauadvocates.com or +254 710 914 579, quoting the reference. Kenyan law applies. These terms do not limit access to a competent court, regulator, professional complaints body or other remedy available by law. A later change to this page does not retrospectively replace the purchase terms recorded for your order.
